I have sensitive skin. Can I be sugared?Yes! All skin types and hair types can be sugared. Sugaring removes dead skin cells and hair using natural sugar paste, leaving your live cells safe and brightening your skin. For clients with sensitive skin, we recommend our Premium Prebiotic sugar paste. This innovative paste does not contain lemon and includes inulin, a special sugar that helps balance your skin's natural bacteria, keeping it healthy. You are also welcome to try our Classic and Monochrome sugar pastes to see which works best for you. If you have any concerns, we recommend discussing them with our sugarist or consultant before your treatment. Everyone's skin is different, so personalised advice is important.

What is the difference between Premium Prebiotic, Classic & Monochrome Sugar Paste? We offer three types of sugar pastes for hair removal to meet different customer needs: Premium Prebiotic: This innovative sugar paste does not contain lemon. It includes inulin, a special type of sugar that helps balance your skin's natural bacteria, keeping it healthy. Monochrome: This sugar paste has shungite added, which helps remove stubborn hair roots more effectively due to its unique properties. Classic: This is a traditional sugar paste without lemon, making it suitable for those who are allergic to citric acid. *Recommendations: Start with the Classic sugar paste, as it's the most common and generally effective. If you have stubborn, coarse hair, try the Monochrome paste. If you have sensitive skin that easily gets rashes, go for the Premium Prebiotic paste.

-
What do the Mankini/Manzilian zones refer to?We offer Extended Mankini and Manzilian for the gentlemen's secret forest. The diagram below indicates our "zoning" standards. If you're ever in doubt or looking for a customised job, do communicate with our Sugarist. *Highlighted in blue are areas that will be included during the sugaring session.

What do all the facial zones refer to?Below you’ll find a diagram that includes our facial “zoning” standards. Please note that eyebrows are NOT included in full face sugaring and that we highly recommend coming in for a patch test for more sensitive, histamine-reaction-prone areas like cheeks, forehead and sometimes even upper + lower lip. *Areas that will be sugared are highlighted in colours and may very according to to facial proportions and personal preferences.

Does sugaring work towards a permanent hair reduction?Yes it does. Regular hair extraction can lead to permanent hair reduction. When hair is removed during the anagen phase, part of the follicle wall is pulled out during each extraction, eventually causing it to collapse and shrink. As a result, hair will become more refined and can diminish.
-
How often should I get sugared? Our recommendation for the various body parts: For Brazilian/Manzilian: Every 5 - 6 weeks. For Legs: Every 4 - 6 weeks, once a month. For Arms: Every 6 weeks. For Underarms: Every 3 weeks. As every individual has a different hair growth rate, our therapist will be able to recommend a specific time for each individual.

What should I do if I’m on any medication? We’d recommend that you consult your physician before making an appointment if you’re under any medication. Certain ingredients can alter your skin’s condition, making it more susceptible to tearing and irritation. Therefore, it’s always better to be safe than sorry. Remember, always provide us an update on your medication.
-
Can I get sugared if I'm using Retin-A, Renova, Tazorac, or Differin?Due to the potential for increased skin sensitivity and risk of tearing or irritation associated with these topical products, we advise against sugaring treated areas. We recommend waiting at least 3 months after discontinuing their use before scheduling a sugaring session. However, if you are only applying these products to specific areas, such as using 0.1% Retin-A on your face daily but requesting sugaring for your legs, then you can proceed with the sugaring session for the unaffected areas.
-
Can I get sugared if I'm taking Accutane (Sotret or Claravis)?Unfortunately, we do not perform sugaring services for clients who are on Accutane or similar medications. These medications can cause drying and thinning of the skin, leading to a high risk of permanent skin damage with epilation. We strongly advise waiting 3 to 6 months after discontinuing the medication before considering sugaring. Additionally, we highly recommend a patch test before proceeding with a full sugaring session.
-
Can I still get sugared (Bikini/Brazilian) if I’m pregnant?Yes, you can still get sugared while pregnant. Our sugar paste is 100% natural and vegan, making it safe for use during pregnancy. However, it is important to wait until you are past your first trimester and ensure you have a healthy pregnancy. Please note that you may be more sensitive than usual during this time. At Sacchair Studio, we cater to many pregnant clients, but it is essential that you consult with your gynecologist before your session. Mention your pregnancy when booking your appointment so we can prepare accordingly. By booking an appointment, we assume you have taken all necessary precautions and received approval from your healthcare provider.
-
How long should I wait to get sugared (Bikini/Brazilian) after my pregnancy? We generally recommend waiting 1 to 3 months after a natural birth and 3 to 6 months after a cesarean before scheduling a sugaring session. The exact timing depends on your childbirth method and your gynecologist’s advice. In most cases, mothers can book an appointment once they feel ready and have received their doctor’s approval (written approval is needed if less than 1 month post-natural birth or less than 3 months post-cesarean). Please note that these time frames are guidelines. Every new mom's recovery rate is different, and your sugarist may advise waiting longer to avoid stressing healing skin. Feel free to come by for a consultation or contact us for more information.
